McMaster Children’s Hospital
McMaster Children’s Hospital (also known as MacKids Hospital) is one of the top pediatric academic health science centres in Canada. MCH serves the special and unique healthcare needs of children using a family-centred model of care. Each year MCH has approximately 180,000 visits to their subspecialty clinics, diagnostic areas, emergency department, inpatient wards and operating rooms.
McMaster Children’s Hospital is the regional academic centre for pediatric acute care, rehabilitation, developmental and mental health services. Their mission of leading in the provision of the best and most compassionate care in the hospital and community for children, youth, their families and those with special developmental needs is achieved by; collaborating with community partners in the coordination of care and the education of families and communities, advancing and sharing knowledge gained through research to improve health and health care, providing education in the special knowledge and skills to meet the particular needs of children, youth and families and advocating for the optimal health of all children and youth.
McMaster Children’s Hospital is part of Hamilton Health Sciences’ family of hospitals. It is also home to the McMaster Child Health Research Institute (MCHRI) led by McMaster Children’s Hospital and McMaster University, Faculty of Health Sciences in conjunction with many key research partners.
