Pediatric Chronic Pain: An Introduction to the CAPHC Chronic Pain Toolkit Using a Case Study

For the past five-years, The ILC has been a member of The Canadian Association of Paediatric Health Centres (CAPHC) Pain Community of Practice (CoP), which has created a Chronic Pain Toolkit for primary clinicians that help to answer to following questions:

  • What is chronic pain?
  • What are the most common types of chronic pain in children?
  • What are the signs and symptoms to watch out for?
  • As a primary clinician, what can I do? How can I support my patient and their family?
  • What is a chronic pain clinic and when should I refer?
  • How does chronic pain impact families?
  • Are there resources I can share with families?

This webinar introduces the Toolkit using a case study format, walking the viewer through the resources and how to use them and a patient lived experience with Ehlers Danlos Syndromes (min 7:17 & 30:08).
