Clint Calder, LLB


Clint Calder is an Aboriginal Lawyer and is former Assistant General Counsel of a major Canadian chartered bank. As a Métis lawyer, Clint fulfilled his dream of bringing his wealth of business law experience to his hometown of Fort Frances, Ontario in order to assist local Aboriginal clients. Clint Calder is a well respected provider of legal services of First Nations Governance, Aboriginal business ventures including treaty rights and land claims, Aboriginal child welfare, family law litigation and general Aboriginal law and to businesses and individuals in Northwestern Ontario.Clint enjoys his family, a healthy work/lifestyle balance in the picturesque Northern Ontario community on the shores of Rainy Lake.

Tom Cochran

Tom Cochran has over 30 years experience in strategic planning and general management in industrial commodities and packaging industries.  He is bilingual (English and French) and has lived across Canada, having worked extensively in Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba.As an engineer with an MBA, Tom’s career has been dedicated to growing businesses through innovation in manufacturing and marketing.  Much of his experience in business development has been in capital investment projects, improving profits and problem-solving, and he has worked in virtually all areas of marketing, operations, finance and administration.  His expertise has led company reorganizations, financings, and strategic planning efforts as well as acquisitions and divestitures.  In the packaging industry he led the restructuring and turnaround of a major Manitoba-based company.Tom has a lot of experience with international companies including the UK, USA and China where he was responsible for negotiating a joint venture agreement with a government-controlled Chinese trading company.Recently, Tom dedicates his time and effort to volunteer work, including helping small businesses solve problems and develop strategic initiatives.  As President of the Optimist Club of Oakville, his leadership has led a refreshed approach to re-orientating the organization and most recently, assisting to implement a local initiative to apply the innovative practices of micro-financing to the local community. In the future, when he is not working, Tom would like to be more involved in helping to apply his experience to young entrepreneurs and businesses.  He also wants to do some writing about leadership practices, and researching where leaders come from and how to motivate people to become leaders. In his spare time, Tom likes to do home projects, read, garden, and spend time with his wife and dog. He enjoys travel and has been to Asia, Austria, France, Spain, Morocco and New Zealand, and is looking forward to seeing more of Africa, Japan, and Europe.
